Conference 2015 roundup

Our annual conference on 16 March was attended by around 500 delegates who explored the theme of creating a culture of openness, safety and compassion.

The conference was chaired by BBC Medical Correspondent Fergus Walsh and included an interactive programme of workshops, discussion and debate.

Workshops explored topics including revalidation and reflective practice, embedding patient safety in the undergraduate curriculum, differential attainment and the our research programme,

There was a great deal of activity on social media with 1600 tweets using #gmcconf by 5pm on the day of the event. See our summary of the discussions on Storify.

There was an exhibition of posters submitted by medical students and doctors in training, displaying a range of patient -safety projects. Delegates selected Dr Arwa Addel-Aal’s poster as the competition winner.
